girl

Dr. Denise DeConcini writes of revisiting a 2-year-old girl who had been deathly ill in January 2008. “Here she was a year later—still alive—a miracle in itself,” one of our “tiny little victories,” says Denise.

It’s clear this little girl is one of the people in Baradères whose lives the sister parish project has helped transform. But the project also has transformed lives here.  Ask anyone who has ever gone to Baradères with a project team. In my own case, the project has given me an experience of faith that has dwarfed any other manifestation of its existence at any time in my life.

In addition, all of us on the sister parish committee have seen the support of our fellow parishioners steadily increase in recent years even as the economy has increasingly “gone south.” Perhaps some wider transformation is in progress.

Little by little, Baradères is changing, and so, it seems, are we.
