January 2003
visit We deliver about 500 pounds of badly needed medicines to the medical clinic in Baradères. It is the only local source of medical treatment. We provide the medicines on condition that patients are not charged for them. The medicines were directly donated by SJB parishioners, or obtained by the sister parish project from other organizations. The clinic is owned by the Haitian government but operated by nurses who are sisters of Ste. Therese de l'Enfant-Jésus, the same community that administers the Pope Jean Paul II primary school. A staff doctor is supplied by the Cuban government. |
