January 2002 visit The team carried to Haiti over a half-dozen large suitcases full of vaccines, other donated prescription and over-the-counter medications, hundreds of small stuffed toys, and lots of chocolate. (They gave the toys and chocolate to children after their vaccinations—as rewards for bravery!) The team left behind medical aids they did not use, including leftover syringes, alcohol wipes, bandages, gauze, Ace wrap, blood pressure cuffs and a stethescope. |
