visit On the day of our visit, the foreman (top photo) prepares to fit the cistern valve onto the final piece of PVC pipe. A downpour ended the day's construction, but showed us the pipe would carry plenty of water! The final piece was installed the next day. "These poor people's rejoicing at our visit cannot be described," said Monique Theodore. "Their hospitality in sharing their meager resources of fish and rice in their best two-room house, the warm contact which they established with us at once, everything was truly a gift of God. This was a contact between equal peers; we were helping them, they were receiving us with dignity, pride and joy." |
