Through the sister parish project, St. John the Baptist Catholic Community supports more than 1,850 elementary school children in 12 St. Pierre parish schools and 247 seventh through twelfth grade students at the Collége St. Jean Baptiste (2006-06). St. John's parishioners contributed more than $18,000 to the annual sister parish collection in September 2004. Nearly all of the annual collection funds go toward salaries and training for 52 elementary school teachers in St. Pierre parish. The rest goes toward
