Church of St. Pierre (San Pye)

Our sister parish project enables many people—especially children—in St. Pierre parish, Baradères, Haiti, to obtain health and educational services they otherwise would not have.

In this way we seek to help the people build a better future for themselves, their family and their community.

The project is a parish ministry of St. John the Baptist Catholic Community, Silver Spring, Maryland.

Right now we have an exciting opportunity to help the St. Pierre parish. The pastor, Fr. Jean-Phillippe, does not have a vehicle, vital for delivering supplies, visiting the tiny rural chapels, and even transporting people to a hospital.

We can purchase a brand-new Land Cruiser for only $8,000 through a Eurpean missionary organization. List price would be about $85,000! As of August 16, we have received pledges and donations covering 25% of the cost.

Fr. Jean-Philippe will visit us in October. Our parish will hold a Haitian Festivals to raise funds and enjoy Haitian food and music. To help welcome him, you may wish to learn a few simple Haitian phrases. Click here to download an audio file (MP3 format) for your computer or smartphone.

She's the future. You can help her build it.
